We are educating youth for the future
At MSLA, we understand the critical role of educating youth for the future in addressing youth unemployment and achieving poverty reduction.
Educating youth for the future ...
is all about cultivating a passion in our youth for creating new value to our changing and complex world.
Young people should be inspired to be self-driven, critical-thinkers, problem-solvers, innovators and to welcome every opportunity that comes their way.
The development of a deep spirit of caring for others, the ability to collaborate, as well as a keen sense of responsibility and commitment, are all at the heart of educating for a better future.
Of greatest concern to us, is the inequality factor in the South African education system and the huge divide of those who have access to resources and data and those who do not.
We embraced the COVID-19 challenge as an opportunity to restructure as a digital access centre, to bridge the digital divide and provide resources and opportunities for youth to develop skills and knowledge needed for success at higher education levels and in the workplace.
This is how we are making a difference
Our Impact
MSLA supports 300 Grade 9 – 12 learners, representing 17 high schools in Kimberley, each year.
The trend is that youth from these schools generally go nowhere after matric.
See how we are changing this trend!
The stats below reveal the number of MSLA students, from 2012 – 2022, who have gone on to study at tertiary level and their career fields.
