In October 2026, the Maths & Science Leadership Academy (MSLA) celebrated 20 years of educating youth for the future. About 450 learners, parents, teachers, sponsors and education officials joined us at Taberna Dei Church in Kimberley to mark the milestone.
Twenty years in numbers
- Founded in 2006 as a non-profit organisation
- Today we support 320 Grade 9 – 12 learners from 18 high schools in Kimberley
- MSLA matriculants from 2010 to 2025 achieved an average Bachelor’s pass rate of 88%, well above the national and Northern Cape averages
- We receive no state funding – everything we do is made possible by our sponsors and partners
Looking ahead
As we step into our next 20 years, we are planning a satellite campus and Cisco courses to reach even more young people in Kimberley. Thank you to every learner, parent, teacher, sponsor and partner who has been part of the MSLA journey.
Our anniversary was featured by the Diamond Fields Advertiser (DFA). Read the full DFA article: “Kimberley academy marks 20 years of academic excellence and youth development” (21 October 2026, by Danie van der Lith).
